Servohydraulic material testing machines are used for static and dynamic strength and durability testing of material specimen and smaller components. A powerful digital signal processor is used for control and realtime drive signal generation. As a control strategy, force, position or strain feedback is possible. Beneath the standard load signals (ramp, sine, rectangle) also operation load simulation is possible. For small components and uniaxial loading, material testing machines are often a cost-effective solution for the test, as only relatively simple adaptors between specimen and testing machine are needed instead of a complete custom test-bench.
